Itinerary
Arrive in Victoria Falls and check into your lodge before exploring one of the world’s natural wonders on foot. Walk through the rainforest to several viewpoints for breathtaking vistas of the falls, then enjoy dinner at a local restaurant (own expense).
Travel south to Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s largest reserve, renowned for its elephant herds and varied wildlife. Spend two nights at a lodge on a private concession, with time to visit the Painted Dog Conservation Centre and enjoy a full-day game drive in open 4WD vehicles.
Journey to Matobos, home to striking granite outcrops, rhino, and ancient San rock art. Visit World’s View, the resting place of Cecil John Rhodes, and join a guided walk to track rhino in their natural environment, while also exploring the park’s cultural and scenic highlights.
Cross into Botswana and continue west to Nata, located on the edge of the expansive Makgadikgadi salt pans. In the late afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Nata Bird Sanctuary to witness sweeping views across the pans at sunset.
Drive to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, where your lodge overlooks the Thamalakane River. Spend the afternoon relaxing, birdwatching, or take an optional scenic flight over the Delta for a bird’s-eye view of this unique ecosystem (own expense).
Discover Moremi Game Reserve and a nearby private concession on game drives that reveal a wealth of wildlife, from predators to abundant birdlife. Stay at a remote tented bush camp surrounded by wilderness, and enjoy morning and afternoon safaris before returning to Maun on day 10.
Travel north to Shakawe on the Okavango Panhandle and settle into a riverside lodge. Spend time exploring tranquil channels by mokoro and motorboat, with excellent birdwatching and the chance to relax in this peaceful setting.
Cross into Namibia’s Caprivi Strip and game drive through Mahangu National Park before continuing to your lodge on the Kwando River. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic river cruise.
Return to Botswana and the town of Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River. The highlight here is a sunset game-viewing cruise, where you’ll see herds of elephants, pods of hippos, and crocodiles as the sun dips below the horizon.
After breakfast, transfer by road to Kasane Airport or Victoria Falls Airport for your onward flights. An optional early morning game drive in Chobe can be arranged before departure (own expense).
