Tahiti

Verdant mountains rising up from turquoise coral-fringed lagoons

Tahiti

Luxury, romance and postcard-perfect beauty

Imagine waking up in your own overwater bungalow, diving straight from your deck into warm turquoise waters, and gazing at lush mountains rising from coral-fringed lagoons. Welcome to The Islands of Tahiti - where French chic meets island luxury in a tropical paradise you’ll never want to leave.

Often simply called "Tahiti," this island wonderland actually spans five breathtaking archipelagos, known officially as French Polynesia. From the lively island vibe of Tahiti itself to the stunning beauty of Moorea and Bora Bora, each island offers unforgettable experiences: swim in crystal-clear lagoons filled with colourful marine life, lounge on untouched white-sand beaches, or explore lush, verdant landscapes.

Whether you’re seeking laid-back luxury, a romantic escape, or thrilling adventures on land and sea, French Polynesia is your perfect match. With world-class resorts, mouth-watering cuisine, and dreamy experiences at every turn, your ideal island getaway is waiting right here.

Best time to go

The ideal time to visit Tahiti is from May to October, when the weather is sunny and perfect for outdoor activities. November and April also offer delightful conditions with warm temperatures and fewer crowds. Even during the rainy season, Tahiti's lush landscapes and warm climate create a uniquely enchanting atmosphere.

Time difference

New Zealand is ahead of Tahiti by 22 hours (April – September) or 23 hours (late September – early April). Because Tahiti does not observe daylight saving, the difference changes when New Zealand clocks move forward or backward.

House of Travel Te Awamutu

My first big trip was off to Camp America many years ago. As soon as I stepped foot on the first big international plane, the travel bug bit me and I never wanted to stop! Eventually I had to get a "real job" and what better job than as a travel agent.

Since then I've enjoyed sending many more people on their first big exciting trip overseas, on family holidays, honeymoons, reunions, road trips, girls trips and any other reason you can think of for travel!
