48 hours in London

London doesn’t just keep you busy – it sweeps you off your feet. This vibrant, history-packed, culture-stuffed city pulses with a pace that’s impossible to ignore – and you’ve got just 48 hours to dive in.

From the Tower of London to Kensington Palace, Westminster Abbey to the London Eye – and even a standing ovation at Shakespeare’s Globe – you’ll tick off some of the capital’s greatest hits. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, London’s hidden gems will sneak up and surprise you.

Whether you’re seeing it for the first time or the fifteenth, there’s always something new – and something totally unforgettable – waiting around the corner.

Feeling inspired? Our UK specialists are here to help you craft the perfect London escape! Here's a guide on how to make the most of your time in this incredible city and discover its hidden gems.

Day 1

Start your day with a visit to the iconic Tower Bridge, where you can explore Victorian Engine Rooms, make your way up to the Tower Bridge Exhibition, and — if you’re feeling brave — take a walk along its glass-bottomed walkway.

Spend your morning wandering through the Tower of London – a place where history lingers in every stone. When you’re ready for a bite, make your way to Borough Market, one of London’s oldest and most iconic food spots. From fresh produce to artisanal treats and classic British fare, there’s something delicious at every turn.

After lunch, stretch your legs with a stroll along the South Bank of the River Thames. It’s one of the best places to soak up London’s skyline – think the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey, the historic site of royal weddings and the recent coronation of King Charles III.

As the lights go down, the curtain goes up. Catch a show in the West End – perhaps The Lion King, or another musical that takes your fancy. For dinner, Covent Garden’s a winner for pre- or post-theatre dining. Joe Allen is a local favourite – head there after the show and you might just spot an actor or two.

Day 2

Start your second day in London with a wander through the British Museum – a treasure trove of history and culture, and one of the largest collections of art and artefacts in the world. Don’t miss the iconic Rosetta Stone, the striking Parthenon sculptures and the ever-fascinating Egyptian mummies – they’re true pinch-me moments for history lovers.

For lunch, make your way to Soho – one of London’s coolest neighbourhoods, packed with top-notch eateries and buzzing bars. We’re big fans of Barrafina for its sleek décor and mouth-watering modern Spanish tapas.

Walk it off with a wander through Hyde Park, one of the city’s most iconic green spaces. Stroll past the Serpentine Lake, pause at the Diana Memorial Fountain, and finish up at Kensington Palace – once home to Princess Diana and now a royal residence for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Wind down your day with a drink in hand and the city at your feet. Head to the Sky Garden – London’s highest public garden – for panoramic views, lush greenery and a cocktail or glass of wine as the skyline lights up around you.

To round off your 48 hours in style, make your way to Shoreditch – East London’s foodie playground and one of the capital’s trendiest neighbourhoods. It’s a melting pot of flavours, from modern British to global bites. If you’re after something special, Brat is a standout with its mouth-watering open fire cooking.

“Be sure to book your free entrance tickets atleast 3 weeks in advance - this is a popular spot, and can get quite crowded.”
