Make your own way to Brisbane’s Southbank district to board your boat. View the city’s skyscrapers, leafy suburbs, and waterside mansions pass by as your captain provides informative commentary about the sights.
Arrive at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and enjoy plenty of time to explore on your own.
More than 130 koalas reside at Lone Pine—the world’s largest koala sanctuary. Plus, you have the chance to visit the Platypus House to observe the elusive platypus.
The Birds of Prey show features owls, kites, and sea eagles, and colorful wild lorikeets fly in for feedings. Keep an eye out for Eastern Water Dragons—a lizard that grows up to three feet (90cm) long. Admire the working dogs at the sheepdog show as they round up sheep while responding to their master’s whistles, calls, and hand signals.
Meals are available for purchase on the river cruise and at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary's cafe (own expense). After discovering Lone Pine, return to your boat for the cruise back to Southbank where your tour ends.

After morning pickup from either Brisbane or Surfers Paradise, catch the ferry to Moreton Island. You might spot dolphins, migrating humpback whales, and other marine animals on the way to Moreton Island.
Moreton Island is the third largest sand island in the world. Travel by sturdy 4WD vehicle along the sandy beach to Tangalooma Wreck,s where you have a choice of activities.
Snorkel with your guide among the Tangalooma Wrecks, 15 ships that were purposely scuttled to create a break wall, now inhabited by colourful corals, tropical fish, sea turtles, and other critters. Alternatively, use the provided transparent bodyboards to look at the reef, or stay dry and enjoy the beach.
Refuel with a picnic lunch served on the beach, then hop into a transparent kayak and follow your guide on a tour of the Tangalooma Wrecks, watching an array of fish swim underneath your kayak.
Swap the sea for the sand as your guide steers your 4WD inland to reach the sand dunes. There, try sandboarding, an exhilarating sport that is comparable to tobogganing. Some people can reach speeds of up to 30 mph (50 kph) while zipping down the dunes.
If time allows after sandboarding, return to Tangalooma Beach for a swim before reboarding the ferry. Your tour ends with return to your starting point in Brisbane or Surfers Paradise in the evening.
(Please note: If conditions are unfavourable for snorkelling and kayaking, a 4WD island tour will be substituted.)
